When is the best time to visit Lake Louise?

Because of its altitude, Banff and Lake Louise are cooler in summer (July-August), averaging 16°C, and very cold in winter (November to March) – usually below zero and Lake Louise can be icy up until June with ice skating in mid-winter. May to September is the most comfortable time to visit when most snow has thawed, and there’s less rain here than elsewhere in Alberta. Summer is driest and sunniest with abundant wildflowers, and autumn (September-October) is crisp and colourful.

What is the time difference between the UK and Lake Louise?

Lake Louise is in Mountain Time (UTC/GMT -7 hours) and observes Daylight Saving Time (UTC/GMT -6 hours) March-November.

What places combine well with Lake Louise?

Lake Louise is easily accessible from Banff (half an hour’s drive) and Calgary (two hours’ drive) and commonly combined with Banff town, the rest of Banff National Park and Canmore. It’s also easily combined with Golden and Kootenay National Park on the British Columbia side of the Rockies.
